Virtual/Remote Chimney Inspections
Virtual/remote chimney inspections are an option that combines convenience and effectiveness. Inspections are recommended at least yearly, but circumstances may call for more frequent inspections. For example, a heavily used chimney will need additional inspections, as will one that is showing signs of emerging problems. Additionally, modifications to a chimney call for an inspection as well. Going virtual is a way to work all required inspections into your busy schedule.
All you need is a camera or smartphone and the capability of streaming video. One of our technicians will take a look at your chimney, following guidelines from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). The technician will notify you of any problems and recommend additional steps to take to protect your home. This service is priced at $75.00.
Chimney Technical Consulting
Our next service, technical consulting, is aimed at ensuring chimneys are structurally sound. This involves examining preexisting chimneys and assisting in the planning of new chimneys. For instance, some projects may call for on-site visits, some may require feasibility studies, and still others call for a mixture of both. An example situation is when a fireplace has been potentially damaged, such as by a storm: A technical consultation can help determine the extent of repairs that are necessary. Consulting is also highly useful for renovation projects.
Chimney technical consultants bring to the table a mix of engineering knowledge and experience, which we are glad to offer to contractors, architects, utility providers, and other entities that deal with chimneys and need to plan accordingly. This service is priced at $100 per hour, and a minimum of one hour is required.
Chimney Technical Training
Fireplaces and chimneys can bring a home together, adding both warmth and utility to a living space. But they require proper maintenance, and one of Chimney Draft Doctor’s biggest priorities is setting up rising technicians to take care of chimneys and fireplaces. Again using guidelines from the CSIA, we provide technical training on how to inspect and maintain this part of the home. Training covers topics like what issues to be on the lookout for during an inspection, how to use the equipment involved, and so on. This service is priced at $250 per hour, and the minimum time for training is one hour.
Chimney Business Consulting
Not all chimneys are attached to homes, which is why Chimney Draft Doctor also offers consulting for businesses. A chimney and/or fireplace can be a useful addition to a business, and it can also spread cheer to employees and customers alikeābut just like residential setups, business chimneys and fireplaces need to be carefully planned and maintained. The service of business consulting costs $100 per hour and has a minimum time of one hour.
